UPDATE:John Galliano vs Dior

It has been over a week since the arrest and release of fashion guru John Galliano, it’s a pity Christian Dior was not as lenient as the French police who released him from prison shortly after his arrest. Galliano has apologized for his behavior after Dior suspended him over anti-Semitic remarks he made at an up market café in Paris after a few glasses of wine just over a week ago.

He also said that unifying people of different race, religion and sexuality has been his guiding light. On a sad note Dior has released a statement on Tuesday saying it had commenced termination proceedings in the light of the deeply offensive statements by Galliano. So Galliano will be saying goodbye Dior after 14 years as the creative director. Will Christian Dior suffer because of the departure of Galliano? We will have to wait and see who will replace him.

So international fashion icon and head designer for Christian Dior John Galliano is racist and loves Hitler?

Well that is according to a you tube video. The very flamboyant designer was arrested on February 25 for throwing anti-Semitic insults at a couple on a night out in Paris. The designer was later taken to a police station for sobriety tests, the state prosecutor recommended his release and charges were not filed this is according to a Britain’s Guardian newspaper.

Galliano 50 was fired at the house of Dior as head designer last Tuesday and his Paris fashion week runway show has been called off. “Anti-Semitism and racism have no part in our society. I unreservedly apologize for my behavior in causing any offence” those are the words of Galliano himself. Question on the international fashion world is who will replace this amazingly talented designer at Dior?
